In 1995, two Japanese professors, Ikujiro Nonaka and Hirotaka Takeuchi, from Hitotsubashi University published a foundation for the management of knowledge in their book
The Knowledge-Creating Company. [1] The authors compare the knowledge management practices of Eastern and Western organisations and find that Eastern organisations are more efficient creators of knowledge. The eastern model allows organisations to use different combinations of tacit and explicit knowledge to create knowledge at every level.
