While working with people suffering from highly stigmatised illnesses and addictions, the South London and Maudsley NHS trust (SLaM) has gained significant experience of prejudice. A new drive to ensure equal services to all those in need within its community, and equal employment rights to its entire staff, has involved many changes at the health trust, including the establishment of an ethnicity monitoring system.
