Case Studies

The theme of this case study is the use of mentoring to support underrepresented groups, such as women and ethnic minorities, and increase diversity in an organisation. It would be ideal for using with anyone involved in implementing such a programme, to help kick start the design process.

Suitable for participants tasked with the responsibility of implementing a formal mentoring programme, this case study explores the key factors that should be taken into consideration at the planning and design stage. Allow 1 hr 15 minutes for completion.

Exercises

In this paired exercise, participants are encouraged to consider the role that the mentor plays in helping someone to develop. It could also be used in the context of coaching. Allow 25 minutes for completion.

This exercise is a fun introduction to the subject of coaching or mentoring, and it encourages participants to think of the skills that an effective coach or mentor needs. Allow 20 minutes for completion.
